# Activities and reference products

## Definitions

Search results are grouped by production or consumption activity. An activity may contain multiple datasets. A dataset
is a specific record in a database, version and system model. Its reference product is the corresponding product flow.

The same activity does not imply the same dataset. A shared reference product also does not identify a dataset. See the

## Activity types

| Type       | Scope in the existing public HiQLCD description                                                                          |
| ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Production | Cradle-to-gate product production processes                                                                              |
| Market     | Production plus downstream transport, integrating logistics and related transport data for a specific product and region |
